Joe Cates joined Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak & Pikala, P.A. as an associate in 2007 and concentrates his practice in the area of Construction Law.  After graduating from St. John's University with a degree in English, he worked for a construction company specializing in residential remodeling.  This experience provided him with solid first-hand knowledge of the industry, which has benefitted him in his legal career.  Joe also worked as a law clerk at Arthur Chapman during his third year of law school.

He is an experienced and enthusiastic outdoorsman and spends much of his free time in the woods or on the lakes of northern Minnesota.
