Intellectual Property Bulletin

The Intellectual Property Bulletin is published by the Intellectual Property Practice Group at Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak & Pikala, P.A. to keep our clients informed of the ever-changing complexities of intellectual property and business law.

Arthur Chapman’s Intellectual Property Practice Group recently enjoyed successes in and out of the courtroom. First, Tom Forker, Bob Kettering, and Chris Newkirk obtained summary judgment for their client on all eight counts in an unfair trade practices, trademark, and trade dress infringement case pending in United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Second, the Intellectual Property Law section of the American Bar Association published Chris Newkirk and Tom Forker’s copyright infringement article, A License to Sample, on the cover of its Spring 2005 newsletter which is distributed to approximately 30,000 intellectual property law section members. The article analyzes recent judicial decisions involving digital sampling in the music industry. Please contact either Tom or Chris if you have questions about the article.

If you are interested in an intellectual property seminar at your office, our Intellectual Property Practice Group is available for half-day seminars at your convenience.  If you are interested in arranging a seminar, please contact Tom ForkerChris Newkirk, or our Marketing Director Jenny Frost.
