About the Authors
Anton J. van der Merwe concentrates his practice primarily in the defense of products liability and construction law claims and lawsuits. He also has experience in intellectual property and appellate practice. Before joining the firm, his practice included national and local defense of manufacturers of various products, including automobiles, injection molding machines, power tools, and gas control devices. Anton is fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
Christopher D. Newkirk's practice focuses on commercial litigation in the areas of general and products liability and intellectual property litigation. He has extensive first chair jury and bench trial experience having conducted well over thirty-five jury trials and seventy bench trials to verdict. In addition to his current focus on civil litigation, he has years of experience in criminal prosecution and class action lawsuits.
