Attorney Spotlight: Corey Bronczyk

April 12, 2024

As we celebrate our firm’s 50th anniversary, we are celebrating the people that make our firm great. Enjoy getting to know more about construction law attorney, Corey Bronczyk.

What inspired you to become an attorney, and how did you choose your specific field of law?
I started out in construction when I was a kid working with my dad, building log homes. After that, I built residential homes in the Bemidji, MN area, and ultimately decided to get my degree in Construction Management. During college I worked for a general contractor in Fargo doing mostly commercial remodel and tenant improvement work, and then worked for an owner’s representative firm doing MnSCU college campus work. During that time I had to deal with a number of disputes, and had to talk to a construction lawyer for the first time. From there, I decided to go to law school with the intention of becoming a construction lawyer. With my background and passion for all things construction, it was a natural progression. I am passionate about the construction industry, and I am right where I belong.

What are some of your favorite cases to work on?
I really enjoy all of the different areas that we practice in. Whether it is a payment dispute, site injury, or a warranty/defect type of lawsuit, I enjoy them all. I do particularly enjoy the general counsel work that we do for a lot of our clients, and particularly enjoy the risk mitigation and prevention aspect of this role.

Favorites
Favorite thing to cook: Maple syrup! It is truly homemade as I tap the maple tree to get the sap and go through the whole process!
Favorite outdoor activity: When I have time, I enjoy fishing and hunting.
