Rakiah is a well-rounded litigator specializing in appellate and employment litigation. Her prior experience includes defending Washington city governments and agencies in civil rights litigation, employment litigation, labor law, school law, public records act litigation, and wrongful death and personal injury defense.  Rakiah has presented innovative and effective arguments in State and Federal trial courts and courts of appeal. Clients appreciate Rakiah’s command of the finer details of a case and know Rakiah will be conscientious and thorough in handling all aspects of their cases.

During law school, Rakiah worked as a Comments Editor for the Seton Hall Legislative Journal, as a student attorney for the Seton Hall University School of Law Center for Social Justice defending low-income clients and earned Best Appellee Oralist in Appellate Advocacy.  She also interned with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and for the Honorable Radames Velazquez, Jr., Superior Court of New Jersey.  Before law school, Rakiah graduated cum laude from Iowa State University.  In her free time, Rakiah enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and playing video games.
