We are excited to welcome Inayah Smith-Marsette to our Workers' Compensation team! We asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
1. Why did you decide to practice law?
I decided to practice law because I've always had a passion for helping others -- I suppose I was a humanitarian in my past life. At an early age, I understood that America is a country governed by laws, so I figured the best way to help others was to learn the law and how it applied. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to participate in the New Jersey Law Education and Empowerment Project (NJ LEEP) the summer entering my freshman year of high school. In this program, I learned about criminal law and the criminal trial process, and I also competed in a mock trial before a presiding judge. The insight I gained confirmed my dreams of one day becoming an attorney.
2. What are you most excited for in your role at ACKSP?
Workers’ Compensation law is new to me, so I am most excited about learning this practice area to effectively and efficiently assist my clients.
3. What is an interesting fact about you?
History is my favorite subject. When I lived in Maryland, I rode my bike to Old Town Alexandria and the National Harbor Waterfront to read the historical facts.
