All Minnesota Businesses – Including Critical Sector Businesses – Must Prepare and Implement a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan

June 5, 2020

Today, Governor Tim Walz issued Executive Order 20-74, which requires critical sector businesses to prepare and implement a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan by June 29, 2020. State agencies will be providing updated guidance to assist in the preparation of these plans by June 15, 2020. The new guidance will be posted to https://mn.gov/portal/. Critical sector businesses need not pause their operations as they prepare their plans. Critical sector businesses with plans already in place should review the June 15 guidance of state agencies and make any appropriate updates to their plans in light of that guidance. Business not classified as critical sector businesses have been required to prepare and implement preparedness plans as a condition of commencing operations. Executive Order 20-74 reiterates that employees who can work from home must do so.
