Juan M. Avila

Juan represents employers, companies, contractors, design professionals, and insurers in complex civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on employer liability and workplace-incident matters, including catastrophic injury and fatality claims, third-party workplace claims, construction disputes, and professional liability matters involving architects and engineers.

He handles high-exposure, multi-party litigation involving workplace accidents, personal injury, premises liability, product liability, and construction-related losses. Clients regularly turn to him to investigate significant incidents, assess liability and exposure, and develop effective strategies for litigation, mediation, trial, and appeal. He also advises clients on litigation avoidance, loss prevention, and risk management.

Juan writes and presents on civil procedure, general liability, construction law, and professional liability issues. He has been active in the Minnesota legal community through the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He is fluent in Spanish.

Outside the office, Juan enjoys playing guitar and spending time with his children as he approaches an empty-nester chapter.
