We are excited to welcome Mohamed Ibrahim to our team this summer. Mohamed is a J.D. candidate at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He joins our Firm for the next ten weeks in partnership with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice 1L Clerkship Program. He will spend time at our Firm and Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions.
Mohamed was the Deputy Director of the CAIR-MN. Before joining CAIR-MN, Mohamed was a Senior Program Coordinator with the Research Innovation Office (RIO) in the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic. He has been active with various community organizations in Minnesota. He also is the recipient of the 2017 Department of Medicine Allied Health Innovation-Bright Idea Award. Harrison’s focus is with the Appellate Law and Business Litigation Practice Group. Most recently, he worked as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert Awsumb in Ramsey County District Court Civil Davison. Prior to that he spent six months as a solo practitioner, representing clients in a wide range of areas, including business law, protection of intellectual property, criminal law, and family law. While in law school Harrison interned in the Legal Department of the Minnesota Governor’s Office and in Ecolab's Global Compliance department, and participated in the University of St. Thomas Trademark Clinic.

Pickups Are Not Commercial Vehicles For No-Fault Indemnity
February 3, 2022
In a precedential decision issued on January 31, 2022, the Minnesota Court of Appeals held that a pickup truck is not a “commercial vehicle” subject to No-Fault indemnity claims under Minn. Stat. § 65B.53, subd. 1 even if its curb weight exceeds 5,500 pounds, unless it was being used in a commercial capacity when the accident causing injury occurred.
